David Burke is an Oakland based artist, muralist and educator. He is the founder of the Love Letter to Oakland mural project and is currently an instructor at Cal State East Bay and the Academy of Art in SF.
his recent body of work depicts futuristic playgrounds. They are abandoned and nature is beginning to reclaim them. Jestopia is an attempt to reconcile humanity's complex and often convoluted relationship to the natural world. It is a reflection on the current state of the world and an attempt to imagine what comes next, for us, for the planet.
