Mariana Moreno-Gonzalez "The Painted Dogs" 8x10

Mariana is a Mexican American, first generation, Bay Area native. She began her painting journey after grieving the loss of her beloved dog, Lobo. She honored that special bond by painting his portrait, and has been painting pet portraits for the pet guardian community ever since. She also has a small collection of paintings that illustrate her insights from her many walks in life with Lobo. She paints intuitively and has a strong appreciation for the wisdom found in nature.

I am an avid lover of dogs and many animals, in general. A friend of mine recently took a photo of two African Wild Dogs on her safari trip, and I instantly felt inspired to paint them! That's usually how I work. Once a spark is set in me, I have to let it breathe and grow. I love offering flowers to my animal paintings, and the national flower of South Africa was a perfect fit. African Wild Dogs symbolize loyalty, power of unity, strength, and love. King Protea Flowers symbolize resilience, transformation, and cultural harmony. May we learn through the language of nature that we can all share space in the power of love.
