“Grooves” is a vibrant group exhibition celebrating the enduring power of album art—those iconic covers that shaped how we see and hear music. Featuring artists from the Bay Area and beyond, across painting, illustration, and mixed media, the show pays homage to the visual world of album covers, all work is in a 12”x12” format. Each piece reimagines a beloved album cover, drawing inspiration not only from the original artwork but from the emotions, stories, and soundtracks behind the music itself.
This tribute show explores how album art becomes part of our cultural memory: the bold graphics, symbolic imagery, and distinctive styles that defined entire eras of music. From classic rock and hip-hop to punk, pop, jazz, and experimental sound, “Grooves” highlights the deep connection between visual art and musical experience—how the artwork on the outside can shape the way we feel about the music within.
With fresh interpretations, nostalgic references, and contemporary twists, “Grooves” invites viewers to rediscover the albums that moved them, and to experience the creative dialogue between sound and image anew.
