Lunar New Year in Oakland’s Laurel District
Celebrate Lunar New Year at Faultline Artspace
Join us Saturday, February 28th from 1:30–4:00 PM as we open our doors during the vibrant Lunar New Year procession in the Laurel District.
This year feels especially meaningful. We’re launching the third Women’s + 10xTen Art Exhibition, a show that brings together a dynamic group of artists working within the intimate 10x10 format. The scale may be compact, but the range of voices, styles, and ideas is anything but small. Expect bold gestures, quiet intensity, layered narratives, and surprising materials—all sharing space in one energized room.
Because this is our first year aligning the exhibition with the Lunar New Year festivities, we’re stepping into the unknown—in the best way possible. The streets will be alive with music, community, and celebration. And yes, the dragon is scheduled to visit and bless the gallery, carrying with it wishes of prosperity, strength, and good fortune for the year ahead.
It’s the kind of afternoon that captures what makes this neighborhood special: art spilling into the street, culture interwoven with creativity, and a sense that anything might happen.
Bring your family. Wander through the procession. Step inside the gallery. Stay awhile.
Gung Hay Fat Choy!
