Nirvana’s “In Utero” is one of my favorite albums. It’s nostalgic to me and I wanted to create what I thought Kurt would really want the album cover to look like. As far as the imagery goes, the angel has spilled her guts and the turtle is swimming towards a rebirth of its own.
I usually draw what I feel, but I also like to use a lot of imagery that allows a person to escape. Whether that be through a photograph of nature or a surrealistic illustration. I also really enjoy painting. It’s a form of meditation for me.
