Inspired by Korean folk art, minhwa, which was created by commoners for commoners. in old Korea, only the elite could get an education in classical painting, but with Korean folk art, anyone could do it. Which is why a lot of the forms would be funky looking, but there is an appeal to that. I take the Korean tiger and connect it to my identity as a new mom juggling being an artist and taking care of my child.
