Nicole Gonzalez - "DBX-1"

$450.00

Acrylic on 12 × 12 wood art panel

This piece is influenced by the album cover for Debbie Harry which was done in the biomechanical style of HR Geiger. This cover went onto inspire movies such as Hellraiser in the 1980s and create a movement called ‘modern primitive’. I recreated this in my own style where I transformed Debbie ‘DB’ into a cyborg with mechanical parts. Part human part metal machine called ‘DBX-1’

Nicole is a San Francisco Bay Area Native. Her lifelong love of plants and nature is translated into works of art by use of rich color, organic shapes and movement. Blending of color with mixed media adds fluidity and connectedness to her vibrant imagery. Her paintings feature exotic plant species to create unique enchanted landscapes. These are key elements of her ethereal yet realistic style. Her paintings often feature cacti, as a symbol of cultural influence and her heritage. Nicole is currently exploring the notion that there is oneness in nature, life experience, and self discovery. All her artwork is created from within herself, and her heart. To share these experiences with her audience is her goal.
